I know, for sure, of two people who have yo-yoed the JMT.
Brick may have been another, I'm not sure, I know he fast packed the JMT.
Is it uncommon?...Yes
However, I would assume others have yo-yoed it in the past.
At 422 miles with 20 passes a JMT yo-yo is very challenging, but doable 
for a fit hiker.
