Straw man, sir.

Had it made it that far, I had planned to hike both the Crater Lake rim
and the Eagle Creek Trail.

All I am really saying is that if we allow everybody to say they through
hiked the PCT just because they want to say they did, then the term
"through hike" becomes meaningless.

Traditionally, a through hike has been a continuous hike from one end of
the trail to the other.

If you hiked a section of the trail, or skipped sections of the trail,
you did not through hike. I don't understand why people think it is
judgmental to call things what they are. Haven't I made it clear that I
am not judging anybody's decisions or accomplishments? I'm the last
person to judge another person for the way they hiked. I quit after 150
miles, for God's sake!

Did people not read what I wrote? I said that I don't care what route
people took out of Warner Springs, really I don't. If they say they
through hiked the trail, I assume that it means that they walked
whichever route they took.
