Interesting.  I've used them with hardrocks and new balance trail 
runners and had no problems.  I make sure that the tabs that attach to 
the straps are squeezed tight around the shoe.  It makes it a little 
harder to get on but the tabs do much of the work keeping the crampon in 
place.
