If you're eating a decent quantity of it (as in, you have a thru-hiker
metabolism), then a plastic jar isn't necessarily a bad choice.  You might
look to buy such in gas station mini-marts and the like, as my recollection
is that you can often get a smaller plastic jar there --- yes, perhaps
you're buying 12 oz at the supermarket price for 18 oz, but you only have to
carry the 12 oz ...
