I second your recommendation Susan.
Although I did not read it until after my 09 thru hike I identified with a lot of Ray's humor and spirit.
For instance, The photo entitled "Skin Diving through Oregon" I totally get what he means by that!
Ray Eccles reminds me so much of the greatest gift of the trail.. All the beautiful people you meet.
