[pct-l] Injury on PCT

Hi, just need some advice!  My son is presently hiking the PCT but has twisted his ankle a couple of days before Idyllwild. He has stayed in a motel for 3 days and tried to carry on today but it has taken him an hour to walk a mile so he has turned back.  Not sure what to advise him -  he has been planning this for months and has travelled over from the UK so obviously doesn't want to give up - but what with the weather etc - he is thinking of hiring a car to travel further North -and rest up for a while before continuing. He is in Idyllwild at the moment - saw on the list that there were some others there thinking of travelling North - anyone could help or join up with him for the trip?
