[pct-l] Saw a scary picture... Need some reassurance...

I've been walking 12 miles a day and hiking on the weekends for the past
several months to get in shape since I made my decision to thru hike the PCT
in 2011...

I just came across THIS PICTURE (enlarge to X3 to see detail)
<http://www.smugmug.com/gallery/1700891#83684682_g5HZr-A-LB>and I sorta
panicked... I broke both my ankles (yes, at the same time) a couple years
ago and tore my ACL a couple years before THAT... (I know, I know... I might
just be too much of a clutz to safely enter the wilderness) While those
injuries have healed, I still have trouble with that knee from time to time
and my ankles will always roll. Until I saw that picture, it hadn't really
occurred to me that I would be physically unable to complete the PCT. I
assumed that it would be challenging and require a lot of stamina, but in
all the journals I've read I haven't imagined anything like this...

Is this from the actual trail? Or is this photo from a side trip they took?
(That photo is from the purebound.com guy's pct thru hike in '06) Do I need
to rethink my summer plans for next year? I am prepared to deal with
treacherous water crossings, I can scoot over a log and maneuver slippery
rocks with the aide of my trekking poles, and I plan to learn to use an ice
ax this winter, but if there are long sections (like more than 50' at a time
or so) of trail like this photo, I have to admit that is beyond my
capabilities...

Thanks!
