Yep, "back in '77" water was a constant issue.  I purified water in the Volcan Mtns (west of San Felipe Mtns) from a cow pond and in Oregon we waited for 4 or 5 hours capturing the drip, drip, drip from what the guide book called a great spring.  The scenic views were often muddied with the smoke from the many forest fires.  The smoke scared my lungs and now I have to smoke cigars constantly just to feel young again!
