it all comes down to percentages ...
... if your base weight is 7 lbs,  then 10 ounces is nearly a ten % increase.  

if you carry 20 lbs,  it is noticed much much less.

that said,  the weight savings and bulk savings are significant, and for shorter 
stretches there's not reason not to try stoveless.  you just might like it... i 
did !  ; )
