A hidden gem you might have missed is the Travertine Hot Spring. It's  
two miles out of town. You could walk there. Just look at the hills  
outside of town to the east and see a white, bare area. That's where  
they are. Just head for that white area and you will find them. No  
camping at the hot spring, but I stealth camped a ways away in the  
juniper-studded hills.
