[pct-l] Advice to a beginner about crossing Sierras

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who took the time to give a pct newbie some advice.  A lot of good points on both sides of the "do it!" and "wait!" argument.  My group and I have decided to start 2-3 sections south of Walker Pass and see how things are by the time we get to the Sierras.  We were looking forward to spending our 4-5week trip in the Sierras, but seeing the southern areas also sounds exciting.  We're just happy to be able to be out there.  Thanks again, it was all very much appreciated.
