[pct-l] Best way to clean your pack?

Depends on the pack and if you can separate it from the frame, but my ULA
Circuit, minus the back stay which comes out, goes right in the washing
machine and comes out smelling like a rose, and it usually goes in
smelling' pretty bad.  Several washes hasn't hurt it as far as I can see.
 Does anybody know if I'm liable to do damage to the poor beat up old work
horse of a bag, or is that what others do too?
