As long as we're on the subject of books, I just finished Cheryl Strayed's
book "Wild."  She hiked solo from Tehachapi to The Bridge of the Gods in
1995.  She shared some of Diane's (Piper's)  misfortunes, especially with
painful feet, but her background and her total unpreparedness for what she
was about to do and yet her determination to finish what she started all
had me captivated.

And do read Adventure and Magic, also by Diane Soini.  If you like Piper's
Flight you'll love A&M.
