Diane,

you brought up a subject thats bothering me a bit ...

>One thing to keep in mind is that the pool at the Dow Villa
>has a sign that says no street clothes in the pool. I starting
>carrying a bathing suit so that if I got to a place with a
>pool and a rule like that I wouldn't miss out. I started

>way different from the 10 essentials for other hikers.

I am really looking forward to all the hot springs along the trail as well
as bathing in creeks and alpine lakes, but I would consider a bathsuit as
unnecessary weight and would like to avoid it.

Coming over from Europe (and an open family) I am well aware that there
could be some cultural differences concerning nudism. I don't want to
provoke or embarass someone, so my question is if it would be considered as
impolite or worse - propositioning - to go into natural hot springs
naked/topless ?
