I use almost 5 years Garmin 60CSx and I can recommend this GPS. It is 
very solid device that I used in very extreme situation from tropic to 
Alaska from very low temperature to very high, I use it on my mountain 
bike and even in situation with very big vibration it works perfectly. 
I've never problem with this unit. The main disadvantaged is size and 
weight  (and maybe lack of integration with SPOT device).
