Moisturizer is even more important from Campo to KM, imo.  I needed to use chapstick and hand cream frequently to avoid painful, cracked cuticles and very chapped lips.  Chapstick with a sunscreen component is also useful, exp. in the Sierra if there's snow.

Subject: [pct-l] Skin Moisturizer

It is interesting reading all the posts, blogs and guide books on the PCT. Nobody has mentioned skin moisturiser. I'm from NZ and did the JMT a couple of years ago. Towards the end of the hike in the high Sierras one thing I would have killed for was skin moisturiser. I strongly recommend you pack some in your resupply at Tuolumne Meadows and Echo Lake (or buy from store and smother it on. When I came off Mt Whitney my skin was like a sheading lizard. Obviously being in low humidity for a couple of weeks sucked every bit on natural oils I had in my skin.
