Gottago, Cupcake, and Yogi met while hiking the PCT in 2002. When the 2003
hiking season rolled around, Gottago wanted to give a gift to the current
year thru-hikers. She didn't want it to be something that would get mailed
home. The gift had to be lightweight, useful, and memorable. Gottago
thought a bandana would be the perfect thru-hiking gift/souvenir! Gottago
created the concept and pays for the bandanas, Yogi supplies the data, and
Cupcake designs the artwork.

Since 2003, the PCT Class Bandanas have been given as gifts to current-year
thru-hikers. Hikers pick up their gifted bandanas at the ADZPCTKO (Annual
Day Zero Pacific Crest Trail Kick Off), which is held the last full weekend
in April, at Lake Morena County Park (that's at PCT mile 20.0).

Gottago wants to get the bandanas in the hands of all the current-year
thru-hikers. However, due to the increase in the number of hikers, and the
fact that not everyone makes it to the Kick Off, it's impossible to gift
the bandanas to everyone who wants one. So, Gottago is now making the PCT
Class Bandanas available for sale at www.yogisbooks.com. Yes, 2014 hikers
can still pick up a free bandana at the Kick Off while supplies last. You
now also have the opportunity to purchase your very own Class of 2014 PCT
Bandana from Yogi's Books - also while supplies last. Proceeds help to
cover the cost of the bandanas.
