Putting word out here in advance about over-flow hiker traffic during peak

season in Agua Dulce. Estimates are that there may be as many as 1,000
hikers on the trail this season. And, as in years past, there's a good
chance that roughly two-thirds of the hikers will start on or around the
ADZPCTKO, becoming part of "The Herd." Even those who start a week (or even
two) ahead of the event will become part of The Herd.
Response:
Yet one more of many good reasons to start early in this epic low Sierra Snow  and record So Cal drought year.  Get up to Hiker Heaven by early May, push on to KM and hit the high Sierra by mid to late May.

Between 16 and 32% of normal for this time of year - and at, or in the case of Nor Cal, BELOW the record drought year of 76-77.  Sierra snow will not be an issue barring a huge last minute change in the current patterns.

It's March 20 - If you can, start in a couple of weeks - call it the last few days of March to the first few days of April, do so.

One nice thing I noticed - on the Postholer trail register

There is quite a few folks starting well before the KO.....Hopefully more folks choose to do so.

YMMV.  HYOH.  2 Cents.  Other standard disclaimers.  Yadda, Yadda, Yadda......
