Good point. Have seen a lot of rattlers. Except for one I heard them all first, and located them from the distinct buzz of the rattles. The only one I saw first I almost stepped on. It was very slowly making its way across the trail early morning, so I presume to find a nice place to warm up. They are extremely well camouflaged in most cases.
