[pct-l] Skipping

Ryback is the one that’s been providing the medals gratis, and he specifically provides you don’t have to complete the trail in one year in order to qualify, He also specifies that qualifying for a medal is to be based on the word of the applicant; no doubt based on his very public issue back in the Seventies with claims that he hitched part way. Still, I feel pretty much the way Ice Axe does. Many people I ran into hitched around fires (understandably) or flat out yellow blazed portions. One guy I won’t name even wrote a book about thru hiking the trail despite missing a huge chunk; an omission not found in his narrative. A hiker I got to know, Ten Speed, did the CDT before the PCT and his words still ring true. A thru is just one continuos hike, whether on the actual trail or off of it.
