[pct-l] Hitch from Onion Valley

Onion Valley/Kearsage Pass is a popular trailhead, especially on weekends. It should not be a problem. Your chances of getting a ride are better if you time it so you are hitching down the hill in the afternoon and back up in the morning. Also, weekends are busier than weekdays.

Most people are heading north or south from trailhead. Lone Pine is 15 miles south, Bishop is 45 miles north. It's often possible to get a ride from trailhead, one way or the other. If not, hitching on 395 may take a little while, but most are usually successful. If not, Eastern Sierra Transit runs a bus three times per day, weekdays, between Bishop and Lone Pine.
