Hi!
My name is Ronnie Jo(no trailname yet), I'm female, 43, from the
Seattle, WA area, and will be doing my first major hike in several years
after coming back from a life changing accident. I won't be hiking in
2007, as I plan on using this summer to get into shape, planning and
buying gear (any and all help welcomed gratefully), and generally doing
my "homework" re: the PCT trail and hike.
I won't be attempting a thru hike this first time out in many years,
but I will be getting onto the trail at Mt. Etna, and finishing up at
Manning Park at about the same time many of the thru hikers do.
I fully plan on "hiking my own hike" as they say, and have been reading
many of the journals and reading the boards here too, for a great deal
of helpful info- thanks everyone! It's been helpful and even a bit
entertaining at times, and all of it, greatly appreciated- don't think
it's not.
A bit about me....I've been a wilderness enthusiast since I took my
first wilderness trip into the Boundary Waters Canoe Area at the ripe
old age of 8. I've hiked and camped in the wilderness of many states,
from Arizona to Minnesota, from Pennsylvania to Washington and
California, even to spending 3 months in Yosemite Park one summer.
Yeah, I'm a bit older now, and I'm sure a lot slower, but I don't
care. It's high time I get back out there and commune with mother
nature again. In fact I'm long past due. ;-) As far as I know, mine
will be a solo nobo hike-- if I find a partner, male or female, who
wouldn't mind a bit slower "stop and smell the roses" pace type hike,
I'd be ok with that, but I'm perfectly fine doing a solo hike also.
Thanks all for allowing me to introduce myself to your fine community
and I'll keep reading all the great info you all are giving.

Peace out~
***Ronnie Jo***
