[pct-l] What do others do to get/stay in shape

Hi Greg,
I'm right there with you.  A PCT enthusiast and section hiker, but getting out on an
extended hike for me isn't always so easy.  I learned the hard way that sitting at
a desk isn't conducive to developing trail fitness.  So...
I run on average about 80 miles per month and try to do about 8 to 12  of those 
miles climbing.  This allows me to do a long weekend at 15 to 18 mile a day and 
not feel trashed.  Monday, Tuesday, Thurs and Sat are running days and I try to
run between 4 and 10 miles per run.  It took about 4 months to get to the point where
a 4 mile run wasn't really painful.  Finishing a run is my favorite part!  : )
