[pct-l] JMT Thru Hike?

If you hike S to N you will have to carry a full pack of food over Whitney. If you look at a profile map you'll see that passes get lower as you go north. That makes a south bound hike building up to higher passes as your pack gets lighter.

You can enter and exit the JMT at Tuolumne Meadows which would shorten you hike. You could also hike that leg another time as a weekend/acclimatizing hike.
