[pct-l] bikes

For all the complaints about cyclists that don't follow the rules, I have
yet to drive on a freeway where most people weren't exceeding the speed
limit when traffic allowed. The real question is how often do cyclists
violate rules in ways that endanger others. In my experience, not nearly as
often as most drivers.

There is a reason bikes belong in the street, not on sidewalks, in cities.
Pedestrians and bikes don't mix very well. The same is true on trails.

Mountain bikes are out there for recreation and sometimes that includes
being heedless of their own and other's safety. They need to have their own
alternative spaces to play. It would make sense for hikers to advocate for
those alternatives along with opposing the idea of shared trails.
